"Permit Resharing to Stories", or redistribute to stories, according to the licensing control name. This option is active by default and allows other people to easily add your posts to their stories.

If you don't want your posts carelessly picked up by someone else, all you have to do is deactivate the option. The methods are as follows:

Instagram -> Profiles -> Menu -> Settings / Settings -> Privacy & Security / Privacy and security -> Resharing to Stories / Reshares to stories -> Allow Resharing to Stories / Allow to redistribute to stories (Off).

Well, after disabling this option, posting your photos or videos on Instagram will no longer be able to reshare other users to their stories.

There is one other way to make your Instagram account fully private. That way your posts on Instagram will not be able to be picked up by others to their stories.
